THE CHURCH AT TRACE CROSSING LOGO

THE COLORS OF OUR CALLlogom3
The Trace Crossing logo communicates what we believe Trace Crossing is called to be. The inner portion of the logo is made up of three parts: a green portion representing the hills of Northeast Mississippi, a blue portion representing the sky, and a white portion that dually suggests both the Natchez Trace winding over the hill as well as a cross image as the road is extended into the sky. This inner portion of the logo is a reflection of our geographic location. The color scheme used on the inner portion (blue and green) in conjunction with is circular look are also representative of the whole earth. This represents our desire to not just be focused on leading people to Christ in Northeast Mississippi, but around the world. The non-traditional shape and energetic nature of the cross image demonstrates our desire to be a non-traditional church who is passionate about their faith in God. Life with Christ is to be a passionate journey.

The outer portion of the logo is a circle comprised of three colors: red, yellow, and blue. Those colors each represent a specific part of our disciple-making process and our expectations as a faith family.

RED: Love.
The  color at the bottom of our logo, red, represents the blood Christ spilled at the cross and reinforces the first of those “words we live by”: love. The bloody cross of Christ demonstrates more clearly than any other Christian symbol the passionate love of God for mankind and his willingness to sacrifice even his own son. Its place at the bottom of our logo demonstrates that Christ's work on the cross is the foundation not only of our worship, but everything else as well.

YELLOW: Live.
The yellow portion of the logo stands for our LifeGroups. We chose the yellowish-gold color because it is the color of bread. The Bible tells us that the early church went from "house to house breaking bread together". This is what we have modeled our LifeGroup strategy upon - groups of believers meeting in homes for the purpose of growing in their faith and in their relationships. Essentially, they are doing life together.

BLUE: Lead.
The third and final color, blue, represents the waters of baptism, the other Christian sacrament celebrated by most evangelical churches. The blue portion of the circle reinforces the third “word we live by”: lead. It is our desire to lead people into a new relationship with Christ, symbolized by and celebrated in the act of baptism.

We truly believe that if we are faithful as a people to love God (red) and live together in Christian community (yellow) then we will have the opportunity to lead our friends and neighbors into a passionate relationship with Jesus Christ, celebrated together in the waters of baptism (blue). In summary, the tri-colored outer portion encircling the blue and green inner portion represents the call of The Church at Trace Crossing to surround Northeast Mississippi with the good news of Jesus Christ, by loving, living, and leading them into a passionate experience of Christ’s redeeming life.
